Any safe places to run in Manassas?

Are there any places safe around Manassas for a long jog? My neighborhood won't work because I live off a two lane backroad. I'm new here and haven't found a park or anything around me.

You don't say which part of Manassas you are living in (zip code/cross-streets). Here's an interesting website that looks to be generated by users: http://www.walkjogrun.net/running-routes/USA/VA/Manassas/. Some neighborhoods are safer than others. Where I am (20109/Ashton & Sudley Manor), going to the Manassas Battlefields is probably the nicest and safest place for a jog but, since its Federal land, I believe you are supposed to pay to use the park for every visit (though, I've never been approached by a park ranger to check that I did so).

A smaller area to jog but still nice is Signal Hill Park in Manassas Park.

Some walking trails around Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park are primitive but nice.

Not in Manassas, but Prince William Forest off of Route 234 in Dumfries has loads of trails to keep you busy for months (but there is an entrance fee).

Also not in Manassas, but on the other side of the county from Prince William Forest is Bull Run Mountains Conservancy in Broad Run for hiking (may be too hilly for a jog though). No entrance fee, either.

Well there is but nobody ever checks. It's a nice place to hike but Manassas battlefield is far more suitable, and extensive.

If you're looking for safe and pretty (and don't mind the drive), the gravel roads between The Planes and Middleburg are great for running and safe as church.

Georgetown South is a great place to run, especially from the police.

Here are some local parks:

As far as safe, that depends on who, what, when, and where. As a general rule of thumb, if you have seen the park in the news for murder or rape, then avoid that park. A certain Dale City park comes to mind as one to be avoided if safety is your concern. Although, if you are running I am not sure that will be a problem. They generally prey on easy targets ;)

The Broad Run Trail is nice. Manassas battlefield has lots of trails and I would consider it safe during the daylight hours. So is the trail between Bull Run Park and Fountainhead which is on the FFX side of the PWC/FFX border.
