I'm from Richmond,VA going to an interview in Arlington,VA
Went on the I-66W without knowing the HOV during rush hour.
I was just following my GPS.

Got the first HOV, N Glebe exit
Fine. I'll eat it.
So I asked the office my destination.
She told me the direction but it was contradictory to my GPS
I got lost.
I turned right on fairfax dr...and up the ramp I went again.

I exited the following exit.
pulled over the second time within 5 mins of driving.
It was I-66 N Sycamore st.
I tried explaining to the second office and she wouldn't listen

First ticket = $125
Second ticket $250 plus 3 points.

I just want drop the second ticket
I'm not from the area.
I have clean record.
I got lost because of contradictory information.
I was running late for my interview.
and...how can someone get 2 tickets in 5 mins????

Is there possible that judge can understand my situation
know where I'm coming from?
and drop the charge


Can someone give me tips/suggestions that I can lessen my second ticket.
Anything would help....please!

How did this work out for you? I wonder all the time whether those from out of the area/unfamiliar with roads TOTALLY HOV-restricted get in these types of situations frequently.

I was in Arlington traffic court as a witness to an accident. A girl before my case was from Maryland and had gotten an HOV- violation on the N. Glebe exit.

She explained she didn't know the area very well and just assumed HOV mean't the left lane only as it is in Maryland.

Judge let her go free of any charge because she had a clean record and he said he understood how she could be confused.

You will have to go to a court date but at a min the second ticket will be dropped. You may get lucky if you playup the out of town angle, not the "I was late for my interview" angle. The judge has a good chance of dropping both but not if you were just late and in a hurry. I wouldn't make that a big part of my case.

person from a year and a half ago, a dumbass like you failed at the interview i am sure. stay in richmond where dumb dumb can flounder through life at a snails pace despite having an IQ in the double digit range.

Mindless police bots were out ticketing HOV violators at Glebe Road ramp this morning. Holiday week. No traffic on the Interstate. Your money is Arlington County's crack cocaine.

HOV-only = this kind of nonsense = what happens when DemocRATS get elected. The downstate ones steal our taxes and return S**T to us, and the local ones profit by HOV fines for PUBLIC roads paid for by the PUBLIC, not a tollroad for 9-t0-5 clock-watching carpoolers. I formerly lived in Arl. but refuse to patronize any businesses there now due to their idiot pols.
