Should Arlington annex Falls Church?

Should Arlington County annex the City of Falls Church?

This is the question I pose to you. The City of Falls Church is a quiant, beautiful and historic hamlet located just outside Washington, D.C. Despite the Falls Church's small town charm, lovely people and quite good restaurant scene it suffers the indignity of being under the jurisdiction of the inept and overburdened county of Fairfax.

I believe it would be most beneficial for Falls Church to be incorporated into Arlington County. There would be a host of benefits to Falls Church becoming an enclave of the most competetent and renowned county in all of the Commonwealth. Arlington is developing quite the restaurant scene and could impart some of that flourishing foodie culture to Falls Church. Legions of foodies would be even more tempted to "Eat in the Little City". It has long been known that Fairfax County is run little better than a Former Soviet Republic. It's incompetent civil services, terrible school system (I realize Falls Church has it's own school district) and mismanaged municipal business bureau force it to levy crippling taxes and traffic fines. Indeed Falls Church could benefit a great deal by being annexed by Arlington County.

Besides the practical reasons for Falls Church being incorporated in Arlington County, there is also fact that the existance of Falls Church as an independent enclave is non-sensical. Falls Church is kind of like Switzerland, Djibouti or Belarus. Its existence as an independent entity is an anomoly. There really is no need for it to be forced to fend for itself. It should liberated from the peculiarity of it's independence and become part of Arlington County. I think such an action could be very easily initiated by the good citizens of Falls Church if they plead for the help they so desperately need. If they do not take this step, than the good citizens of Falls Church will wake up one morning to the rumble of an army of Arlington County vehicles rolling through their quaint neighoborhoods to assess the damage and "offer" their services to the bewildered people of Falls Church.

What say you?

Falls Church is a city. Arlington is a county. A county cannot annex a city in Virginia.

That has nothing to do with what the OP is saying dumbass. OP is saying that Falls Church's existence makes no sense. Falls Church isn't feeling the financial crush of liberal fiscal or social policies, but they still benefit them. They need to take on some of the burden, and the best way to do that is to encorporate them.
