Shiloh Richard Forrest, 36, of Sterling, was indicted on Nov. 17 for allegedly filming himself engaging in sexual acts with a prepubescent child.
A federal grand jury returned a four-count indictment charging Forrest with two counts of producing child pornography, one count of distributing child pornography and one count of receiving child pornography.
Forrest allegedly sent child pornography videos to an undercover U.S. Postal Inspector in December 2010.
In June, computers were seized from Forrest’s home. Court documents state that subsequent computer forensics examinations showed that Forrest had used a cell phone to record himself engaging in sexual acts with a prepubescent child in his Sterling apartment and also at a hotel in Ocean City, Md., in the summer months of 2010.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gerald Smagala will prosecute the case.
In addition to the federal charges, Forrest, and his wife, also faces local charges.
In October, a Loudoun County Grand Jury indicted Forrest on four counts of forcible sodomy. Forrest remains in Federal custody on related charges.
His wife, Mary A. Adams, 31, of Sterling was charged on Oct. 5 with four counts of felony child neglect. She was released on a $5000 secured bond. The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office conducted in June 2011 in connection with a Federal investigation.
