Loudoun County - Flash Flood Warnings

Flash Flood Alerts for Loudoun County

Description:
Severe FLASH FLOODING now being reported in an approaching thunderstorm over West Montgomery County. This storm has a history of dropping 3" per hour rainfall totals as it went through Fairfax County and has triggered multiple water rescues from vehicles there. This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for West Montgomery County.
The National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WARNING for Montgomery County until 7:30pm. At 4"15pm Doppler radar indicated a line of storms approaching the county that is producing flooding rains.
Residents should expect extremely heavy rain that will flood low lying areas, and streets with slow drainage. Do not try to cross flooded roads. Flooded areas may be harder to identify at night. Use caution while driving.
SKYWARN spotters are requested to relay all flood reports to the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and the NWS office in Sterling.
