Authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating a man who allegedly threatened a Target employee in Sterling with a knife before stealing several MP3 players.
The man, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, went into the store in Potomac Run Plaza about 8 p.m. May 22 and asked an employee to see an MP3 player displayed behind a glass case.
When the employee opened the case, the man attempted to grab several MP3 players, according to reports. Authorities said the man then brandished what appeared to be a knife, threatened the employee and fled the store with several MP3 players.
The employee was not injured.
Authorities describe the man as white, in his mid to late 20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black Nike hoodie with the hood up.
Authorities believe the man left the scene in a small to mid-size dark gray/blue car with a sunroof. The vehicle is possibly a Cadillac CTS (2005 model) and may be missing a front passenger side hubcap.
Anyone with information regarding the man’s identity should contact Investigator M. McCaffrey at 703-777-0475. Anonymous callers should contact Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. If the information leads to an arrest and indictment, the caller could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
