Driver struck 55-year-woman on Gloucester Parkway in Ashburn and fled the scene.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating the driver of vehicle that struck a 55-year-old woman Thursday night and then fled the scene.

Authorities say the woman, who has not yet been identified, was seriously injured during the incident. She was airlifted from the scene to Inova Fairfax Hospital. Her condition as of late Thursday night could not be determined.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was crossing Gloucester Parkway near Ashby Ponds Boulevard about 7:20 p.m. when she was struck by the driver of a small, dark-colored four-door passenger car. The driver is male, authorities said.

The car likely has damage to the front-end passenger side and the undercarriage.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of the driver and vehicle should call the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 703-777-1021. Anonymous callers are asked to contact Loudoun County Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. Callers with information leading to an arrest and an indictment could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

This is a developing story. Check back to loudountimes.com for more information as it becomes available.
