Police say man jumped from county parking garage, confirm suicide

Police say a man jumped off the third or fourth story of the Loudoun County Government Center’s parking garage March 4. The body was found at 7:30 a.m.
Police say a man jumped off the third or fourth level of the Loudoun County Government Parking Garage on Church Street in downtown Leesburg March 4.
Lt. Wes Thompson of the Leesburg Police Department confirmed the suicide about 10 a.m. after a passerby saw the body at 7:30 a.m. The victim appeared to be a dark-haired, white male in his 20s or 30s, according to those who saw his body.
Police have yet to provide more detailed information on the victim’s identity because the family members have not yet been notified.
A pedestrian found the body about 7:30 a.m. lying in the middle of Church Street, just outside the exit of the government complex parking garage and next to the parking lot of the Times-Mirror.
Church Street is a small, leafy connector between East Market Street to the north and Loudoun Street to the south. It is used most often by vehicles entering and exiting the parking lots owned by the county government and the Loudoun Times-Mirror.
Ambulances and police were on the scene minutes after being notified, and the body was covered. Police detectives quickly cordoned off the scene and began searching the immediate area.
The discovery of the dead body and subsequent investigation comes on the day the Town of Leesburg is holding its First Friday festivities, which occur on the first Friday of every month.

Yes, that seems to be true. The funny thing is, if I were going to commit suicide, I'd use sleeping pills. It seems like jumping off a bridge or parking garage would have alot of pain involved.
