Verizon Ashburn (Fenced Bldg. in back)

There's a building on rear-side of Verizon's campus in Ashburn w/ black Steel or Iron fencing. Not, chainlink fence. Supposedly a Fed. Gov. data center on Verizon grounds? Can anyone offer additional info. on this secure-structure and grounds on back-side Verizon grounds-- It appears, out of place...

judging from the AC units on the roof, it's a data center. But I"m betting it belongs to Verizon.

Agree. Definitely a data center w/ roof ac's that you mention. It's a newer structure that was completed in the last 12-16 months? Probably, coincides with Verizon's assuming ownership of the property and former WorldCom(MCI) operations. The whole campus with all the structures are impressive and rival their neighbor up the street; Raytheon that took over most of the old AOL HQ.

NOVA is one of the major hubs for data centers/internet data, those buildings are everywhere around here.

IT'S A OPERATIONS BUILDING !!

Yes they do have a Decent size data center there but that's not really what its used for just has one there do to Verizon being involved. It is Federal Government owned as well meaning internet traffic is iffy in loudoun county so be careful what you do unless you have Proper equipment and such to keep your privacy.

Ha, J S isn't inebriated. English is his second language and he's banking more money than most of us as another IT cog in Ashburn. Fenced building in question is more than just Verizon routine operations and additional/limited info. available via a simple web search.

They monitor everywhere you go on their little corner of the internet there. Verizon is selling off all its data centers. Anything left over will be their own spook operations--ya know, all the telcos gotta be in bed with NSA so they have to keep the links open and the flow going to feed that big computer in Utah...
