NOKESVILLE, Va. -- There’s a yellow ribbon tied around a tree at Shane Donahue’s Nokesville home.

The grass looks like it hasn’t been cut in weeks, three of the four tires on his late-model Volkswagen Jetta are flat and a photo of him hangs on the side door.

The 23-year-old has not been seen since he left his home March 22.

Police and search and rescue crews on Thursday fanned out near his home on Aden Road at 9:30 a.m. looking for answers in his disappearance.

A police investigation into his disappearance has been open since he was reported missing last month.

Besides the farm fields near his home, searchers also focused on the nearby Nokesville Community Park.

“This is a place where we know he likes to come with his friends, so it’s just one of the places that we are searching to try and find him,†said Prince William police Maj. Mike Crosbie.

Crews were planning to spend much of the day at the park searching the woods near two baseball fields, while an RV near the park’s entrance served as a command center to coordinate the ground search. By 4 p.m., they had had still not located any sign of the man.

Donahue’s disappearance has taken a toll on a small community.

His neighbor, who declined to identify herself, was brought to tears by his disappearance. She just wants him to come home, and said “a lot of people are missing him right now.“

“Nokesville is such a small town, and there’s been so much speculation, we don’t know where he went,†she said.

Donahue made his money by working side jobs, according to his neighbor, who added it is not like him to be away from home for so long. She does not believe he left the area voluntarily.

Police have more questions than answers in the case.

Donahue is described as white, 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 185 pounds and has brown eyes.
He does not have a car, and often accepts rides from friends and acquaintances.

Donahue is known to frequent communities in Northern Virginia, especially in Fauquier County. He is also known to frequently travel to Washington and Baltimore.

no one has been able to find him or get into contact with him. it is very sad how he just dissapeared out of no where.

I would like to add something else to this,because I'm watching to see if it gets pulled together in the case.In March there was a young man Shane Donahue who disappeared on Aden Rd in Nokesville.

So,it's only a little over 17 miles.The apartments the Garcias lived at in Triangle is right next to the Quantico entrance,which is just for reference of where they lived.

Here's where it gets really interesting,a Timothy H was just picked up for a string of gun store burglaries and attempts.Guess where he lives,Aden Rd in Nokesville and a commenter from there says Shane was last seen with Timothy.So there's three missing men,Shane since March 22nd and the Garcias in May 10th.And Timothy who has been charged with stealing a number of guns from different gunstores some with silencers.Alot of guns for one person and silencers?The apt complex in Triangle where the Garcias lived is known for being very bad for drugs.They're really cheap apts.

These brothers more than likely didn't leave on thier own free will,no cell or wallets,no way,IMO.
