Coffee & Financial Independence Chat
Posted by: FFX Events ()
Date: December 16, 2019 11:43PM

Come chat about financial independence with other money-minded folks!

Ridgetop Coffee is a family-friendly location, so feel free to bring kids if you've got them! There is a free, enclosed play area for kids 5 and under (including a crawlers area for kids under 2) with family bathroom. The play area has a large glass wall into the coffee shop so you can see watch your kids from the seating area. There are free board games for older kids, as well.

We have reserved the meeting room for this entire time to get the discussion started, but families with young kids may want to branch out to the seating area or into the play area itself. We totally expect people to come and go as they like! No obligation to come right at the beginning or stay in the meeting room the whole time - this is a casual chat-type meetup.

Please consider making a small purchase to support the coffee shop, which provides the meeting room free of charge! The coffee shop is owned and run by the church next door so it is meant to function as a community space, not to make a profit. Your purchase helps keep this space available to us for future meetups! (Plus, they have free Cheerios for babies and toddlers up at the checkout, parents!)

When: This Saturday, December 21st at 9 AM – 12 PM

Where: Ridgetop Coffee
21631 Ridgetop Circle, Sterling, Virginia 20166

Hosted by: Northern Virginia Financial Independence Community

What kind of coffee you have there? I have a friend working at a coffee company in Norway. According to him the best coffee is not Brazilian, not Vietnamese, not Ethiopian or Colombian. It's "the one your mother made".

Can we really measure what is good in something like coffee? Quality and production, maybe. But taste, no I don't think so.

Actually I also have a friend working in the wine industry and after I asked him, very excited I was, which one is the best wine, he answered me: "What do you like? This one for 10 dollars? Or maybe this one for 1000? If you like it, it's going good. Drink it from a glass or a plastic cup, as long as the atmosphere it's good it's a good wine."

I visited this place last fall when I was on vacation in Virginia with my family. It's nice and cozy, and my kids enjoyed the play area a lot. My family and I enjoyed the coffee because it was delicious. I'm not a coffee expert or something, but it was really good. I got a coffee machine and some nice coffee beans based on the reviews I read on https://www.thecoffeemaven.com/best/espresso-beans after, and now I don't spend 30$ a week on Starbucks coffee, which is great. It's a pity that now we have all these restrictions and we can't travel that much, but I would love to visit this place again.

Thanks for the review. If I ever go to Virginia, I'll visit this place, to see if the coffee is as good as you described it.
