Commute from Ashburn to DC?

We are move-up buyers looking to get out of Fairfax County. Trouble is, spouse commutes to DC maybe 3 times a week.

Is anyone doing this commute? How bad is it? Hours and hours? How's the commuter bus? Any slug line or other options?

You can look into the Loudoun County Connector bus. They pickup in Ashburn and drop off in DC. Used to have a coworker that did it everyday.

I commute from Sterling to Bethesda a few times a week. It's not too bad. 45-60 min. Depends where you are in Ashburn. If you're up Waxpool road, it might take that long to get to 28

My husband commutes from South Riding to North Bethesda Monday - Friday. If he leaves before 6:45am (taking 50 to 66 to 495 to 270), it takes him around 1hr 10mins. If he leaves at 6:30pm from work (taking 270 to 495 to 66 to 28), it takes him 1hr 15mins.
