Battle of the beltway

NOVA Roller Derby will have its first derby bout at the Dulles SportsPlex at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 1. The bout is between the Skate Troopers of the NOVA Roller Derby league and the Black-Eyed Suzies of Free State Roller Derby from Rockville, Md. This is an inaugural bout for both leagues.

Advanced tickets can be purchased at brownpapertickets.com for $10 or for $12 at the door. The SportsPlex is at 21610 Atlantic Blvd. in Sterling. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. NOVA Roller Derby will be collecting 5-ounce cans of Play-Doh to support the Loudoun Abused Womens Shelter. For more information go to novarollerderby.com.
