Deadlines Approaching for Absentee Voting in August 23 Primary Election

Anyone who needs to vote absentee in the upcoming August 23 primary election in Loudoun County has until Tuesday, August 16, 2011, to apply for an absentee ballot through the mail. The Office of the General Registrar located at 750 Miller Drive, S.E., Suite C, Leesburg, VA 20175, is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for absentee voting in person through Friday, August 19. The office will also be open Saturday, August 20, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for the convenience of those needing to vote by absentee ballot. The deadline to apply for and vote an absentee ballot in person is Saturday, August 20.
For the precincts participating in the primary election on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, polls will open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. Anyone in the 31st Senate District is eligible to participate in the Democratic Primary. Anyone in the 13th Senate District, the 10th House District and/or the 87th House District is eligible to participate in the Republican Primary. There are ten Loudoun County precincts not voting this election and several precincts in which only part of the precinct will be voting because of the new house and/or senate lines resulting from the recent redistricting.
