Reston Hospital personnel alerted the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office of a malicious wounding May 23, after the victim who was treated at the hospital failed to report the incident to authorities.
The victim, 32, claimed he was in his vehicle near the 790 block of S. Sugarland Run Road in Sterling at 7 p.m. when he noticed four male juveniles exiting a navy blue Subaru.
The victim then exited his vehicle, according to the Sheriff’s Office, and one of the males assaulted him. A second male allegedly pulled a knife, and the victim received lacerations on his hands from the assault.
The Sheriff’s Office reported the victim declined to cooperate further regarding the suspects’ identities.
“There is a possibility that he may have known the suspects,” Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Kraig Troxell said. “Obviously, there may be more to the story.”
This incident is currently under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
“Hopefully, the victim will be willing to come forward with more information as the investigation continues,” Troxell said.
