Looking east from the AOL/Wegmans area, I saw some crazy stuff in the sky. Anyone else see it?

boyfriend and I saw two huge spotlight like lights on Thursday night/early morning around 12:30 pm in Merrifield just south of Dunn Loring metro looking NW-- saw huge spotlight like light shine on a nearby apartment, disappeared, and then popped up again on the same building- didn't hear any helicopter, completely quiet. There aren't any tall buildings around from which someone could shine such a large light at the angle needed to hit the building- was coming from behind us

Were there any strange movents? How long did it remain in the sky? Where (aprox) where you when pic taken, facing what direction? Thanks
