Fairfax County's Independent Living Project

Preregistration is required for Fairfax County's Independent Living Project that will be held Tuesdays, August 6 to September 10, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Burke Centre Library, 5935 Freds Oak Road, Burke. The Independent Living Project is a free program which offers one hour of education and approximately one hour of yoga or other exercise to increase strength and balance for adults over 60 years of age or younger adults with physical disabilities. Home safety visits are available as well. Participation in the full program is advised. Space is limited. To preregister, please select "Related Information" below. For more information, please call 703-324-7210, TTY 711, or email Jennifer.Edge@FairfaxCounty.gov. Go to www.fairfaxcounty.gov/DFS/OlderAdultServices for information on county services for older adults and caregivers.

As an older person myself, I can vouch for the effectiveness of Yoga.

For years I was plauged by constipation. I tried EVERYTHING, but nothing worked until I tried Yoga.

As my colo-rectal specialist explained to me later, the Yoga relaxed my anal schphinkter muscle, and now I move my bowels freely and with much pleasure.

For those over 60, I would highly recommend paticipation in this program. Thank you for posting.
