using ARB as a weapon

It is clear that folks use the ARB as a weapon. We have seen neighbors report other neighbors because they don't like them or are angry at them. We have seen the ARB change the rules and force large financial strains on homeowners.

At the same time there are common areas that are ignored (we spent last weekend cleaning out the areas around us). The dog waste is growing. Not to mention the alcohol bottles, the used condoms and the graffiti.

There seems to be a mentality of neighbors going after each other and using the ARB to assist in this process.

Our observations are that this is a beautiful place to live....but the liter and backbiting diminish our experience.

I've seen the exact behavior. The nicest house on our street was a target of some of the neighbors Their houses looked like crap and they thought the nice house made theirs look bad. They complained that the person painted their house in a color that was "too white" WTH?

There used to be a bunch of old curmudgeons on the arb - they wanted colors from the 70's. Yes, we did see neighbors file complaints against people they didn't like for trivial things. We also saw the board ignore us when we complained about a rusted used swing set a neighbor behind us put in. They weren't allowed. The guy was friends with an arb member and nothing was done. Other people got letters for having small decorative items on their porches.
