Burke Center & Roberts Pkwy.

Since I have moved to the area in December I have noticed that the Burke Center and Roberts Pkwy intersection has had a countless number of accidents. What is going on? I never have seen so many accidents at one intersection. They need to change the Yield to have no turns on red and no yielded green turn lanes.

It is a tough intersection. I think the visibility when you are making a left is limited and there is a lot of area to cover to clear the left turn. The judgement to go or not go if there is oncoming traffic appears to be difficult

There are often cars turning west on to Burke Centre Parkway from Roberts that get rear-ended. There is a yield with no merge lane so people stop - as they should. The cars on Roberts just whip around that corner not expecting to see someone stopped and smash into people often. A stop sign there for the people making the right would probably help out a bit.

The other intersection that competes for the number of wrecks is on Burke Commons between the Giant and Walmart shopping areas. It's a little better since they redid it, but still pretty dicey.

They are always redesigning that intersection and it comes out worse each time. Only a retard would put a traffic control box so it blocks the view of cars waiting to merge onto the parkway. The street is always littered in glass from the many wrecks.
