Blessing of the Pets

We are offering a Blessing of the Pets at 2 pm on Saturday, October 12, at Cardinal Forest Park, located on Roxbury Avenue a few blocks from the church. The Blessing of the Pets is a way of acknowledging all animals as an important part of God's creation. Pet blessings are often held on a date near October 4, the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. All Messiah members and friends are invited to bring their pets. All animals, large and small, are welcome, and each will receive a certificate of blessing. Please make sure your pet is healthy, in a cage or on a leash as appropriate, and clean up after your pet. We would very much like for this to be a community event, so please encourage your friends and neighbors to join us!
