Hey, so I've never posted here before, but thought this would be at least some place to tell! I've lived in RTC since I was 12 (I'm 21 now), and I've never felt really uneasy or scared to live here.

However, today, while walking a dog at around 1 p.m., this really creepy young-ish guy followed me. I say youngish because he had a backpack and looked to be anywhere from a senior in high school to a young college student. Anyway, I was by the explorer garage walking a dog and he said "hi," so naturally, I said "hi" back. Well, long story short, he literally followed me ALL OVER rtc and I kept trying to lose him. I even told him I had to leave, that I had a boyfriend and that I didn't want to talk to him. Nope, he kept walking parallel to me and when my dog stopped, so would he.

Anyway, finally I got back to my building. I am watching a dog in the Savoy, but I live in Midtown and feel it is a bit more secure there, so I walked the dog back into Midtown. I told him I was home and said bye. He said "bye" and then walked away. So, I walked in the building, and when I was about to turn the corner, I saw his reflection from the mirrors and he was trying to come into the building! The concierge was about to let him in (they usually let people in and then ask where they need to go and escort them out if they see fit). But I screamed "NO PLEASE NO" and so she told him to leave.

She told me to call the cops if I see him again. Anyway, I just wanted to say that there is a guy that people should avoid.

I think he might be involved with human trafficking? I'm not good at giving profiles, but he was maybe middle-eastern or armenian? I'm not trying to offend anyone, I am just a bit bad with recognizing that stuff. Oddly enough though, he literally sounded like he had a russian accent or some sort of accent like that. Weird, I know. But yeah, so he looks like that. Dark hair, had a thin black backpack (thin because not much seemed to be in it). Maybe around 5'9 or 5'10?

Again, he looked very young. I only assume he was maybe into human trafficking because I have read that there have been instances where that has taken place in rtc and he kept following me, wouldn't leave me alone, kept asking personal questions, and he assumed I was 16. I don't know why he would pursue someone he thought was underage. Anyway, I just realized I wished I had figured out who he was, and I'm hoping someone sees this because I don't want a younger or more vulnerable girl to get hurt or be in trouble!

With the homeless shelter right across the street from the police station, this guy is most likely from there. You should carry a can of pepper spray when you are out alone, I keep one in my pocket at all times.

Paige, thank you for posting this. It will remind all of us to be a lot more careful of our surroundings, and more aware of people who could be dangerous, so we can avoid them, and alert other people.
