Police Scanner

Just wondering,
How many of you guys use a police scanner? they offer APPs on the iphone, ipod touch and droids that tap into the police scanner channel. is it illegal?

Yes legal. But I was told the Alexandria police use multiple channels (especially for serious stuff) and not all of them will get picked up by the scanner. They also get a lot of other calls strictly through their car computers. So you might only be hearing 1/5th of what is actually going on.

yup, being that dumb is illegal ! (don't buy it it's a scam)

also: don't scan the police. they'd have to assume your a spy if you crack their channel. it is no longer "an open channel" because they found criminals were doign crime according to their use of the scanner. they locked it and if you unlock it your cracking it

unless you have permission of course
