I don’t understand how this works: How can it have 10,001 supporters but only 5,632 views? Are people supporting it without viewing it?

Yes, there are a bunch of retards on that site who will click on anything, especially if it involves running down a church. Just over half of the people who 'signed' that petition even bothered to look at what it was about.
