G.C. Murphy! Purchased many plastic model airplane kits there as a kid
in early 1970s. Revell, Monogram and Tamiya model manufacturers were
big back then. Our Mom purchased lunch boxes with the glass-lined beverage
thermos there for us kids at start of each new elementary school year.
HR Puffinstuff and Banana Splits lunch boxes were the rage in late 1960s.

Thanks for jogging the mind. Nice to see a post that doesn't involve
the usual nasty stuff.

Big sister had partridge family lunchbox with glass thermos that
broke. Schools banned them and everyone then purchased milk from
cafeteria with stupid paper straws that didn't work. Juice boxes
didn't exist.

I remember Bradlee when there was still a community pool on the west side. I still think of the stores like the Pastry Shop as newer developments.

There used to be Erol’s, Peoples, the kids’ shoe store run by Koreans who gave out pretzels. Vincent & Vincent hair salon and boutique - now THAT was old school. ABC store and Giant - all memories of my childhood.

PS nearly forgot Roy Rogers!!!

Don’t forget sledding at the Masonic Temple or the hill at the Seminary!
