In recent court documents, Episcopal priest Bob Malm, rector of Grace Episcopal Church in Alexandria, said that the church has installed “single-button wireless transmitter safety pendants,” which are “at the ready during church services.” Malm further raised the possibility of an active shooter.

Tellingly, two years ago Bob Malm neither knew, nor cared, what an active shooter is.
Indeed, on the Sunday of the ironically named Great Flood of 2013, in which much of the undercroft was flooded and damaged by a toilet that ran over throughout the night, I strongly suspect it was Bob Malm who did the 5 PM service and lockup that day. But whoever did it, no one even bothered to check the undercroft for trespassers, doors left unlocked, or other security issues. Had Bob or Leslie Steffensen done so, they would have discovered the leak before it became a disaster. In other words, Bob historically appears to have been utterly indifferent to church security.

No one dragged Mom into anything except for Bob’s efforts, contrary to Pennsylvania law, to drag Mom into court. So you can think whatever you want, but given that you conclusions are based on erroneous assumptions, they’re irrelevant, unless to prove that you’re clueless.

2. I don’t lie about parishioners in court.
3. I don’t instruct church employees to engage in shunning and other forms of abusive behavior.
4. I don’t instruct parish employees to misuse memorial donations to the church, resulting in successful consumer protection complaints against the church. Further, the memorial funds in question were given not by me, but by family members whom Bob Malm chose to include in his vendetta.
5. Bob’s actions towards my mother have led to people referring to him as a “snake.” So not interested in your opinions of what constitutes acceptable behavior.

And telling people that your parishioners are terrorists is, at best, stupid. If it’s true, people will avoid your parish. If it’s false, people will avoid your parish. Bob thought he would use his inflammatory rhetoric to shut down criticism, but the only thing that appears headed towards shutdown is Grace Church and Bob’s outrageous compensation package.
