Members of the Killer B’s band, based in Richmond Virginia, offered a heartfelt apology today to Episcopal priest Bob Malm, who reportedly phoned police to complain that he was “terrorized” by their name.
“We came up to play for Bob’s birthday,” a spokeswoman for the band said. “Never did we imagine we’d be accused of domestic terrorism.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Houston Astros, where a group of players was designated as the “Killer B’s” by fans, struggled to formulate a response.
“As America’s sport, our baseball franchise never realized it would reduce Grace Episcopal Church and its rector to a state of abject terror,” the spokesman said. The franchise failed to respond to requests for further comment, instead referring the matter to Sugarland police.
