Increase in crime in Old Town

Anyone else noticed a sharp increase in robberies, burglaries, muggings, "shots fired" responses, and actual shootings ("malicious wounding") in Old Town?

Specifically on the north end of town but spreading south?

I subscribe to the email alerts and it used to be once a week or so I'd get a "police are investigating xyz" message - now it's every day and sometimes multiple times a day.

What's going on?

No worries, gentrification and the million dollar studio apartments that are currently being built will put an end to all of that. It'll be someone else's problem soon enough. Just stay low and walk in a serpentine pattern 'til then.

I'm moving out of the area in a few months and will be happy to leave this miserable area. Nasty/Negative/Dangerous to live or go out at night. THEY can kill one another for all I care. i.e., Killing people over $20 in pot. DC is embarrassing and a complete joke. It's never to late to relocate ALL of the Federal, military and Intelligence to another part of the country (other than the south...such sweet people.
