DMV Points Question

I got in touch with the dmv the other day and was told that points only stay on your record for two years. I forgot to ask , is it 2 years from the offense date or 2 years from the date of conviction? Thanx

never mind, found it. Its from the date of offense.

The following is from the www.dmvnow.com

"DMV demerit points remain on your record for TWO years from the date that you commit the OFFENSE. The dates that demerit points are removed from your driving record are not related to the dates that convictions are removed from your record"
