Private caller

I have been getting harassed at night on my home phone from a private caller.

Anyone else get this recently? 3 nights ago when it started the caller called about 5 times between 233am and 530am

Has anyone been getting calls to lower their credit card rate? These seem to go in cycles and I am getting 2-3 per day and they are coming for what look like legitimate phone numbers. The Do Not Call list is essentially worthless since the caller ID is being spoofed and there is no way to follow up to file a complaint.

"Has anyone been getting calls to lower their credit card rate?"

And car warranties, and politics, and some pre-recorded spanish message, and everything else under the sun. The current approach is the automated sales call, which allows them to make their pitch without giving you a chance to say "do not call".

The folks that run these businesses are taking the money they save by employing humans and using it to grease the political wheels, I think.

The home telephone has basically turned into the last vestige of limped dicked marketing, an emergency phone if there's a problem with my cell, a fax line and a means for people who can't afford a cell phone to have a means of communication. I haven't RECEIVED a call on my home line in 5 years from anyone I want to talk you. Everyone I want to talk to calls my cell.

That would be great if I had reliable cell service (Verizon) inside my house, but there are only a few spots where I occasionally get 2 bars. It is OK on my deck and if I stand in the cul-de-sac the service is very good, but that is really not a practical option. I know that I have missed a called when I see a Google Voice message.

The funny thing is that my wife's 4 year old Samsung flip phone does a lot better than my nearly new Samsung Galaxy S III 4G phone.

It is probably the George Allen campaign offering you a noose or a chance to burn a cross.
