Best Peking duck restaurant?

Been going to Peking Gourmet Inn for years. I know the walls are lined with pictures of dignitaries and celebs, but are there any better choices in this area?

Mark's Duck House in Falls Church by 7 Corners is pretty good - they also do Dim Dum,

There is no better place then Duck Changs in Annandale...they were the first to make Peking Duck in America in less than 24 hours. Been to both the places mentioned and Duck Changs is the best. Esquire magazine voted it one of the best hidden restaurants in America. My family has been going there for years and even though it doesn't look like much inside the food is great. My parents lived in Hong Kong for 5 years and even agree Duck Changs is better then the duck they were served in Hong Kong.

Been going there for over 20 years. Great Peking duck. If I ever have the time, will try the Annandale locations others have mentioned :)

I've been to both over a long time too. PG has a better selection of other dishes and their duck is good but for that I'd have to give the nod to DC. It's just about perfect. I really can't fault it in any way. Worth a try. I don't know of anyone I've taken or sent there who's been disappointed.

One caveat to the above - haven't been by for a year or more. I'm assuming that it's not changed. Now that I think about it I'm going to have to make a trip myself.

The other thing to bear in mind about the Peking Gourmet Inn is that it's now located in one of the worst neighborhoods in NOVA...Culmore. There are brown savages all over the fucking place. The last time I went to Peking Gourmet Inn, I came out and found 2 trying to break into my car. Now, I just get takeout...What a shithole 'hood that place has turned into!

Second on Marks..

Peking Gourmet in Culmore is awesome too, but I hate the fucking crowds.

Marks is better and cheaper than anything I've eaten in Chinatowns in DC or NYC in the last 10 years.

Hunan Lion in the Tysons toilet bowl building had great duck. I'm not sure if it is still open or not.

Agree with the comments on Duck Chang's. The place isn't much from the outside, and inside it's a little bit run-down, but the Peking duck is excellent. It'd be a fine candidate for what the Washington Post food section used to call "Crummy but Good."

One wonders why we aren't supposed to call it "Beijing duck" nowadays.
