Can you be pulled over by Animal Control for speeding?

In short, can a FCPD Animal Control van pull you over for speeding or another traffic violation?

What about detectives?

With the last 2 worthless comments I guess some people have to respond and waste everyones time reading there crap.

The short answer is that any badge carrying official in the county can pull you over but most won't bother unless you are really being a fool behind the wheel. The chance of the Animal Control Officer pulling you over are slim but I have seen a detective pull over a few cars over the years. It is rare but if you are really being an idiot they will.

Fairfax County Animal Control Officers are full-pledged police officers. Yes they can pull over for overspeeding.

This reminds me of when a fire marshall tried to pull me over for riding on the shoulder on 495. I wasn't on fire, so I said fuck him and didn't pull over. After about 110mph or so he gave up

Not anyone with a badge can pull you over. In this area, everyone has a badge, but they may radio Fairfax PD or state to backup. Also, if they turn on their light without cause, they could be open to possible liability.

At one time uniformed Fairfax County Police Officers were filling in for Fairfax Animal Control. I guess no matter what vehicle they are driving - a cop is a cop and can pull you over if you are breaking the law. If you are breaking the law - well, Fuck You!

Next time animal control or anyone other than Fairfax or State PD pulls you over, ask for Fairfax PD or state to respond. Better yet, dial 911.

Somebody else already said it. Some of the Animal Control vans are regular police officers filling in for the badly understaffed Animal Control. So yes they can pull you over and give you a ticket. They can even arrest you if you refuse to sign he ticket.

Yes, the FCPD Animal Control van can pull you over if you're riding a burro. They want to make sure you aren't abusing it before they issue you a going too slowly ticket.

No, I don't think the detectives will want to ride your burro but they might want to ride your mother. Post her picture if she's hawt.
