Perhaps in the language you speak, but not in standard English. Let's try this...

you are --> contraction --> you're :: conjugation of the verb "to be" indicating state of the personal pronoun "you", the person or thing being referenced.

your --> possessive determiner or adjective :: indicates ownership or "possession" by person or thing being referenced.

It's (contraction of it is, as oppossed to "its" which is the possessive determiner) not hard. But if you are still confused, wait a thousand years. The natural evolution of the language will reduce all conjugations and declensions to regular, eliminating virtually all of them. At that point, meaning will strictly come from context, like some dialects of Chinese. But then you won't (contraction of "will not", past tense) need to pay attention in English class any more.

Stupidity is not a virtue.

1) Amendment has one letter 'm'.

2) There's no such word as 'supposably'.

3) Know ther difference between 'lose' and 'looser'. There's no such word as a 'looser'.

I don't mind these so much because these are well known pitfalls of the English language. I cringe when I see them in official print, but on-line, not so much. My favorite is when the grammarian has a bunch of problems in his own post though.

A few months back a school was having a car wash. One of the kids was holding up a sign by the side of the road:

"FREE CAR WASH - Tips excepted!"

The meaning of the sign was correct, but not exactly what the author meant I suspect.

co-conspirator - a made up word from the Watergate days. Since one cannot conspire by themselves the proper term is "conspirator." Adding the "co" makes the word redundant and the speaker or writer look foolish. It also makes the speaker or writer look foolish.

You need to go back further for your origin of co-conspirator. It dates back to the Civil War and the Lincoln assassination. (so its 1860s, not 1970s)

In the case that it is used, it is not redundant. It is to identify fellow conspirators. Co- in this case meaning "fellow" or "affiliated with". This is similar to the word co-worker or co-dependent.

At what point in fucking Tim do you then? Do you let him then first, or do you then first and not care about Tim's then?

Thanks for the origin. Maybe I should have said it was made papular during Watergate. However, there is no difference between co-conspirator and conspirator in their usage, therefore the co is not needed. Co-worker and co-dependent are correct words since you can be a worker or deprndent by yourself. In order to conspire you need more than 1 person and they are all conspirators, not co-conspirators.

It is a legal term.

I think you are getting caught up in the fact that a conspiracy is a bunch of people and everyone involved is a conspirator.

However, the case in which this is used is to identify a conspirator and his co-conspirator -- to differentiate between one and another. Co- in this case is legal shorthand for "so-and-so and his fellow conspirator named X". You could say fellow or you could say "co-". It is to say that this person who is affiliated is not just a friend, but also a conspirator.

So in the case that it is used, it is a more exacting reference to an associate who is involved in a conspiracy. The co-conspirator is not just a friend, family member or someone who contracted with the conspirator, but is also a member of a conspiracy himself.
