Have you seen many yellow jackets this summer?

Well here we be the beginning of August and I've yet to see 1 yeller jacket bee, A few wasps but no yeller jackets and come to think of it no bumble bees. Don't even see bees hovering around trash cans at shopping centers or fast fooders no more. Is this like a sign about the health of the planet?

Maybe those big ass European or Asian Hornets ate all the Yellow Jackets?

I've definitely seen a couple bees this summer. Maybe it was spring but I remember my cherry blossoms buzzing with bees. But now that you mention it, it does seem like there are less than normal this year.

The bee population has been declining by a significant portion each year, but I don't know if that counts for our bees.

Out here in Reston I've seen a ton of yellowjackets. They must have all moved out here to a Section 8 hive.

I've even seen some actual honeybees too. Haven't seen any of those in a while.

They come and go in various years just like other insects. Unfortunately, I'm sure that they'll be back. I hate those damn things. I don't care what their role in the ecosystem is, any opportunity I get I'm extincting their mean little asses.

Yup. A full nest of them in Lorton that came at me when I didn't see them and accidentally disturbed their happy home.

You know, I wouldn't miss bees if I never saw one again.
Maybe we can get the Mexicans to do the cross pollination?

Bees aren't bad in my book. They don't screw with you unless you really mess with them or just happen to get one in your shirt or something like that and get stung. They actually have some useful purpose in life.

Yellow Jackets are just pure mean flying evil. Those aggressive little fuckers will sting your ass just cause. And they'll do it 3 or 4 times before you can smack them and then they'll sting your hand while they're dying. They don't even pollinate or do anything else productive other than eat a little bit dead stuff that's laying around in between flying into soda cans and trying to eat your food. They're like the skinheads of the insect world. No reason to live.

I have seen bees outside but very large ones and some with white spots on the tails. Hornets/wasps seem to be everywhere. I did find a dead yellow jacket in my kitchen window the other day.
