Three Arrested for Rash of Graffiti

Officers and detectives of various agencies have made the initial arrests for a series for destruction by graffiti cases. Carlos Lara, 18, of 3100 South Manchester Street, Falls Church, was arrested on Wednesday, May 7 and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Lara and two juveniles, a 17-year-old Falls Church-area boy and 16-year-old Arlington boy, have been charged with felony destruction of property.

The three arrested are accused of writing graffiti on several locations in the Northern Virginia area. Examples of their work have been found as far back as December 2007. It is believed they are responsible for as many as 50 different locations at a cost that could exceed $50,000. These cases are being investigated and coordinated through the efforts of members from the Fairfax County Police Department, the Arlington County Police Department, the United States Postal Service and the Northern Virginia Community College Police Department.

The law draws the line between misdemeanors and felonies at $1000 in damage. Where does a liberal draw the line, Vince? 100 grand? 500 grand? A million? Never?

Apparently they painted some mailboxes or something to do with the post office. It's a felony to screw with a mailbox or mail in any way.

Well...graffiti is graffiti...certainly not worth a felony conviction... destroying a persons life over. Make them pay...put them in jail...make them clean up other's graffiti. But this is just another example how the majority uses the justice system to disenfranchise minorities.

Please post the stats/data you used to determine that minorities receive harsher sentences than whites in graffiti cases.

Clean it up, pay a fine and if they like to paint so much, make them paint some of the county buildings, curbs, parking lots etc... then have them clean all the counties paint brushes.

Does anybody know if the graffiti was artist or just garbage

What a ridiculous request... the fact that minorities disproportionately represent the populations in our prisons is proof enough. Whites make the rules...they enforce the rules...they sit on juries. When they find too many of their white babies going to jail...they change the rules.

A perfect example of what I am talking about...a person afraid to think for himself! By the way...my opinion just happens to be white people in this country...in Africa the majority are of course black and quite capable of the same misuse of power...in China, the chinese. My point being that those in power come to believe they are right merely by joining the crowd of others who define what is legal and illegal. When carried to extremes it is the "good German" syndrome.... "I was just following orders!"

By the year 2050 years white people will not be the majority...and many of the things we define as right and wrong and justice will change.
