1.8 magnitude earthquake at 1:30pm today, near Annandale.
(near the intersection of I-495 and Little River Turnpike)

I was right near there, so that makes sense

I was standing next to my car at Sheraton Premier Hotel in Tysons Corner
(Rt 7 & Dulles Toll Road)

It felt like a little rumble, but nothing major... not like the last
earthquake in Virginia a few years ago... w

Did you only feel the earthquake, or were you also able to hear something?

The last major earth quake in VA was a few years ago. That one was 4.5 or
something. Would not want to be anywhere near the center... :)

Psssh, 1.8. Try living in Japan for two years where you feel 1.8 earthquakes a few times a week, and being only a few hundred miles from an 8.3. Now that's gangster.

I know... 1.8 is really nothing... but earthquakes are very rare here... :)

the biggest earthquake that I've personally experienced was 7.1... not fun... :(

And yeah, evidently I was only a couple hundred miles away from the largest earthquake in 2003.

As crazy as this sounds at 1:25 or around depending on whose watch you looked at in Ashburn hundreds of bees swarmed out of the ground at my construction site. I do see this as being strange but it did happen.

I didnt hear anything, but i was inside a building and music was blasting loudly

Hmm, is this loud enough to hear it? I swear around 1:30 I was in my basement in fairfax station area and heard this rumble/thunder

I was on the phone with a friend of mine who lives in Baileys Crossroads when it happened. A friend of hers from Lake Barcroft also called. They thought it was either a gas line explosion somewhere or the sonic boom of a military overflight. (They didn't know it was an earthquake until I forwarded the Washington Post article to themm...)

So, yeah, you could DEFINITELY hear/feel it a few miles away.

Right outside of Fairfax City here, on the Annandale side. I felt it. The whole thing freaked me out for a little while. I think I'm over it now though.

was there another earthquake today or something? I felt it around 1:03PM in my
house.
