You may be off base in mentioning McLaughlin. It was McElveen who put forth the motion to not consider amendments. Second by Storck. Is that even legal? Schultz made the most logical arguments for rejecting the SR&R... fix it and vote next time. McLaughlin invoked the memory of Stuben in saying that the school system continues to fail when it comes to discipline. The others who said it's too late, and that the few changes that need to be made to comply with state law require passing it now, are misguided.
As with the budget last month, they voted to support Dale. Schultz, Evans, McLaughlin are looking out for the students and voted against the new SR&R.
Why this board continues to have no time to address the issues, yet continues to have marathon meetings, remains a mystery. Agenda problem? Chairman problem?
