Finally, one stop shopping: bank, pharmacy, gym, and car dealer

Residents of Falls Church, VA will soon be witnessing a significant change to the landscape at Bill Page Honda. Located at 6715 Arlington Boulevard, the site has been home to a variety of Page dealerships dating back to 1950.

In addition to the dealership, the property is also home to a 77,000 square foot shopping center, built in 1968. In the coming months, both will be demolished to make way for a new 240,000 square foot commercial center, complete with dealership, parking garage and in-line retail. Additional property features will include a new pharmacy at the corner of the intersection and to the rear of the property, a new bank building.

The new dealership will be housed in a four-story precast concrete building consisting of a 3 level, parking garage over the 63,000 square foot sales and service center. The dealership will house separate new and used sales departments and a state of the art service center with drive lanes and service bays. The 158,263 square foot parking structure will allow for nearly 200 vehicles to be stored atop the dealership. The roughly 19,000 square foot retail portion of the project will be the future home of national health club conglomerate, Planet Fitness.

Falls Church, VA based General Contractor L.F. Jennings has been awarded the construction contract based on their breadth of experience on similar past projects.

Providing the design services are Freeman Morgan Architects, while Walter L. Phillips is charged with the civil engineering responsibilities.

The entire project is set to kick off in late summer 2012 and will be phased over 18 months to allow for the dealership to remain open during the construction.

"The site is ripe for redevelopment. We are excited about the opportunity to transform a piece of Falls Church and applaud the Page family for their commitment to the community", commented Mike Killelea, L.F. Jennings Vice President of Business Development.

Great. So that part of Route 50 will be even more of a traffic clusterfuck.

What a mess this will be. We don't need another Merrifield. The idea of a mega shopping complex does not fit with the 7-11, kebab place and car wash across the street.

There's already a CVS on the other side of Annandale road from it. There is already a BB&T in that shopping center.

Maybe this is why the Post Office left along with the thrift store. There are still a few businesses in there.

This will probably fail just like those high-rises on Broad Street.

It's better than that seedy motel, and it will be easier to stop in that pharmacy (probably a walgreens) headed west in the afternoon than trying to get to that cvs. Not sure there needs to be another gym with the Bally, 24 hour fitness, and planet fitness all within 1.5 miles of that location. Unless planet fitness moves, that'd be nice

It is the perfect place for George Allen to hold Klan meetings or for his supporters to practice for the annual 'make a Democrat squeal like a pig' event that he would like to start holding.

Or, we could just put a collection agency in there.

You are a dumbass! A mega shopping center? Have you actually been there? That site isn't large enough for even a medium size shopping center. There is a creek that runs behind there. What is there now is a shit hole and it's worn out and needs to be replaced. The improvements will be welcome.

How would the Walgreens be easier to get to than the CVS? Both are on the same side of the street.

If the Merrifield Mosaic Village is a good timeline for this project, Romney's 2nd term will be over before the place opens.

We'll be laughing at the George Allen for President magnetic nooses they'll be handing out.

I had myself turned around, I thought that it was on the side of the street with the burned down shell. That was my bad.

Nothing like having Stevie the Car Salesman bug me about the new Accords while I'm trying to blast my quads.

that area is going to need a lot of work. right across the street as stated is the 7-11 and kebab place. also the black tie cleaners and some car repair place. then there's the mcdonald's where a bunch of kooks hang out ALL THE TIME.

the gym will tank as there are too many already. not sure how well walgreens will do with a cvs right across the street. that center with the cvs has seen a few vacancies as well.

the bill page people are stupid to have chased out the post office. at least they were a paying tenant.

I heard, Bill Page offered to put up a temporary Post Office while construction was on going and offered a spot in the new center for the Post Office. Don't know what happened

Does the Page family own the entire property or just were the dealership is located?
Isn't there a McDonald's located right next door to Page dealership? And if so will that be part of the redevelopment, especially since McDonald's seems to be remodeling its stores.

Stranger things have happened. There is an intersection on 28 in Manassas that has Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid covering 3 of the 4 corners and they seem to all be staying in business.

Walgreens is putting up a new location in Annandale right across from a 24 hour CVS. They are going to tear own the old Fuddruckers and try and compete.
