Weird sound in Burke area

There is a weird sound around Burke Centre, usually at night. It sounds just like a basketball buzzer. Does anyone know what this is?

we hear it all the time, I think its coming from the basketball courts / tennis courts?

I remember smoking a bowl with a friend and we were in my backyard around 1 or 2 am, long past the hour when there should be any sounds that loud. At first we thought it sounded like heavy machinery being operated from miles away. It was coming from the woods, but we knew that behind those woods was another neighborhood, so whatever the sound was coming from, it's much farther away.

I've stepped outside other times at night with friends and we've heard the sound on more than one occasion. My guess was it had something to do with a nearby military training exercise. But it was so loud, and it wouldn't stop. Maybe it was aliens.

Might be some macabas playing in unsanctioned basketball tournaments? Elect me and I'll put an end to that!
