Monte Ralph Rissel is getting released from prison next month. He was a serial rapist/murderer who victimized young women in the Falls Church/Alexandria are in the 1970s. As a female resident of Falls Church, I'm not sure how I feel about this, hope he doesn't come back to his old stomping grounds.

I am proud of our kindhearted, liberal justice system that focuses on rehabilitating serial rapists and gives them a second, third, and fourth chance to get out there and show society what they're capable of doing. Most of these people had suffered less-than-ideal childhoods and just need a warm hug to recognize the wrong path they've taken.

They send lots of senior convicts to pokey haunt us. It was built in the early 2000's and is ADA compliant. The younger guys there help the senior's by pushing their wheelchairs and stuff. They have the shower and restroom equipment that the old guys need. Younger guys that get out of there can often find employment in the nursing home industry because of the skills that they learn there.

I feel so much better that my mom is in a nursing home run by convicts.

Nowadays, this guy would never taste freedom again, but back then (back on what y'all seem to call the good old days for whatever reason...........cause I sure a F**K dont recall a serial killer in the county last 20 years like that) cause the laws were different, you could getearly parole if you stayed out of trouble in jail, crap like that. And you cant deny him his parole procedures if he was promised in a court of law (you cant retroactively change a court judgement in that way) and you cant retry him for crimes he's already been convicted of unless there is new evidence and an overturned ruling is given- none of which has happened in this case.

When he saw an unaccompanied woman pull into the lot, the fantasy kicked in-and he was just emboldened enough by his anger and inebriation to act on it. What he didn't know at first was that she was a prostitute, a sick coincidence given that prostitutes are victims of choice for many serial killers.

Rissell told us he was shocked when the woman tried to defuse the situation by making the sex act seem enjoyable, by trying to make him feel good. It just made him madder, and he ultimately killed her. He chased her, and they fell down a ravine, where he bashed her head against a rock and held her head under water until she drowned.

Rissell had gotten the first one out of the way, and his inhibitions were gone. He killed five women before he was caught.

Every so often I think back to the 70's and where I grew up. And for some reason today I thought of Monte Rissell. I read just a few of the recent messages from last month and one of you started the most insane and idiotic rumor that Monte was being released from prison this month. Get real!!! He is serving 5 life sentences. Did the moron who started this rumor just read that? 5 life sentences. He will never be a free man, NEVER. There is no way he will live long even to serve 5 life sentences to even think about being released. I mean what is wrong with those who wrote and fall for this crap. Before you believe and fall for this crap research the TRUTH.

I knew Monte because I was friends with his sister. I always knew there was something not right with him. In 1977 I ran into his sister at a bar in Bailey's X Roads called Louie's Rock City. Monte showed up a little later and was getting into fights and he had a crazy look in his eyes that I have always compared to Charles Manson's crazed look. His sister, her friends and her brother all gave me a ride home that night. Needless to say he was arrested not long after that and when they released all the names, dates and how he murdered his victims I realized he had already killed 3 of them when his sister gave me a ride home. The creepiest part is...he was sitting next to me in the back seat. Not a great feeling knowing you have not only known a serial killer but sat right next to him in the midst of his murdering.

The key to his cell was thrown out per se when they locked him up. So don't worry, he will never be released. Won't happen.

I am pushing for his pardon by Obama, along with restoration of his voting rights, so that he can help with mine and Obama's re-election. 98% of convicted felons would vote Democrat, so you know restoring felons' voting rights is the right thing to do!

I lived in the apartment complex and knew a couple of the women murdered and it would hurt their families and their memories. They WERE NOT prostitutes. It is possible one out of five was, but for sure I know the other four were not. They were my neighbors, young women like myself at the time, and working real jobs. Please correct this.

I lived there as well. The development was Saxony Square in Alexandria. I met him a couple of times. He was friends with our resident manager there, and I knew her pretty well. Rissell lived two buildings away from us (My Wife and I). I worked nights then, and I used to take her to her friends in Fairfax before I went to work. I bought a .38 for our protection as well.

Now, I hear that they are releasing him! WHAT? People like that don’t change. We had no Death penalty back then. It was overturned for about 5-10 years. How does our legal system break down this way? The man killed 5 Women!

I knew Monte and he use to hang out with me, my roommate, and 3 girls we knew who were clerks at the FBI. This was at the same time he was committing the murders. I was questioned by the detectives after he was arrested and was subpoenaed to his trial before he pleaded to the charges. He was younger than us and acted decent when he was around us and actually use to go with the girls when they would go out to the store when the killings were going on to keep them safe! We lived in the same apartment complex that he did. I knew he was in trouble before we met him but he never gave us any cause to think he was capable of murder at the time.

He is not in the Virginia prison system, and not on the VSP sex offenders list.
