where can i work out for free?

I used to sneak into the aquatic and fitness center at mason. the $12 they charge for a single day's use of the facilities is absolutely absurd. For years I would just walk in and right past the front desk like it was a routine and nobody would ask for my ID. sometimes i would fake breathing hard and dampen myself down first to make it look like i was out for a jog and just getting back. but after their renovations and installation fancy new ID scanners it's harder. for the first time I was asked to check in when walking past the 2nd desk in the fitness equipment room-even though my shirt and head were already wet. i made an excuse and continued, but I can't keep doing that. for a while the fact that there were two desks actually made it easier, as the people at the front desk would assume i would check in at the 2nd desk, and the people at the 2nd desk would assume i had already checked in at the front desk.

i also used to use the field house but am not sure if it's open to non-athletes this time of year. it wasn't open last year at this time. also, unless the gate in the back is open i'd be a little shy to walk past the front desk there.

so does anyone know of a place where it's easy to sneak in? i prefer university gyms. if i'm gonna have to share a place with others i'd prefer eye candy to over-the-hill types. perhaps gwu, georgetown, american?

Your body can't tell the difference between a fifty pound weight and a fifty pound rock. Go watch the training montage in Rocky IV again. Or, buy some weights and be satisfied knowing they're going to pay for themselves in a year or so.

You're wasting your time with this line of inquiry, though. If someone on here did know a place that's easy to sneak into, they're not going to publicize it so a bunch of people start sneaking in as well and ruin the scam for everyone. Most gyms have evolved to effectively keep non-members out, so you run the risk of getting arrested for a silly reason.

dude.
Craigslist. People are practically paying people to come take their weightlifting equip. away. You can literally get like 2k worth of equipment for a couple hundred bucks.

Field House at GMU used to have a weight room for the athletes.

Just walk in quickly, look like you belong there, and go work out.

Chances are small that you'll be challenged at the desk.

If so, just say that you forgot your ID.

You can come work out in my yard. Plenty of heavy lifting. Plus, you'd be doing something useful for the first time in your life.

+1 Collingsworth got the right idea.

Find a park near you with pull up and dip bars.

Do pushups until you cry , then rep out 20 more.

Are you serious? How Jewish are you.. go out and buy a gym membership like everyone else. I dont blame you about the eye candy.. but you'll find that in any gym, no reason to go 'creeping' around universities for that. But for real, quit eating out at least 2 less times a week, and that'll pay for your gym membership.. alomst anywhere besides Lifetime. You sound like a fat fuck anyway who sneeks in to work out only on occasion. Be like every other hard working citizen in our community, pay for a gym membership and maybe it'll pay off for you too, Jew.

If you're a hot college chick you can roll over to my house, I'm building my own O-course.

Seriously, though, for working out at home I have Olympic dumbbells with weights that I can stack onto them, and I also have a home gym that uses the same weight plates. I have a weight vest and pull-up/sit-up bar as well, and plenty of yard to run around for cross-country laps. I'm in the process of finding a climbing rope to install, and building up some obstacles.

As for the gym, we have a family plan so I still use that for the heavy weights (ie, Powerlifting/Olympic lifting). We have a treadmill at the house, but I'll often use the one at the gym since I'm already there anyhow. Don't discount the bodyweight exercises, though, they're what truly builds up toughness if done correctly, and everyone should do them along with weights. If you are so desparate to do free weights without paying for a membership, then buy a home set.

Join the military guard or reserves. You get an ID card that allows you to work out free every day of the year at any military facility. They have some nice gyms.

you don't need some nasty ass gym to work out. Run outside off pavement. Do push up and pull up at those outdoor free gym setups. Sit ups are free too anywhere. Only steroided meatheads need gyms. You will get a far better and more functional workout outdoors. Run in the rain and snow and dont be a pussy. You will actually get in real shape and not some non functional monkey look. now if that's your thing then join gold gym and a few cycles of roids.

You don't need weights. Your body is all the weight that you need. Weight lifters look unnatural and gross anyway. And I say that as a former bodybuilder myself.

The best ways to get a super sexy ripped bod are swimming (especially water polo) or gymnastics.

Look at these guys:

They've probably never spent a day in the gym in their entire lives and yet have far superior physiques to disgusting looking bodybuilders. All they do is throw their own body weight around or swim constantly and they get stacked as fuck while ALSO having very low body fat.

And you don't even need access to gymnastics equipment:

There's all kinds of bodyweight workouts out there. Check 'em out.

Buy your equipment off Craigslist. Shits pretty cheap IMO. Bodyweight workouts will get you a good distance in general physical health. That is only for typical health however, if you want to be pushing heavy weights like O lifter and powerlifters, or have the physique of a body builder, you need the weights. If using bodyweight exercises were so effective, every elite lifter would be doing it. That however isn't true. The amount of burped you can do doesn't directly translate to how much you squat, but how much you squat can improve your burped strength. Don't listen to these bodyweight enthusiasts. 99% of the time they choose bodyweight to hide their shitty strength and their wack physique. Don't do one. Do both
