Gravelly Point Park

Anyone know what time planes stop flying into Reagan National Airport? I'm thinking of going out to Gravelly Point Park after dinner cause I wanna see the big metal birds land.

I think it's 10 or 11pm, but if something is running a little late it will still land there.


Used to be able to smoke and drink down there, but its heavily policed now.

For a real good friday night, find night clubs in NYC with live webcam feeds and watch all the hot club action on your laptop while in bed.

Save some money and still post on here all night long!

Big metal birds. Limited to generally Boeing 737s and Airbus A320's. No 747,777, A380s, etc. But a good spot, and open until 10 pm.

@poopstick, the shitters at Gravelly Point, there are a lot of them. Video might be a bit grainy, but the lights from the planes over them, might provide some illumination :)

The park technically closes after dusk, so it's possible you will be run off by park police before then.

My liege, Poopstick...below is the link to the flight schedule page at Reagan...errrr, National Airport. You can select the airline, flights from, flights to, destination/arrival city and of course, the date. I believe this should greatly assist you in your terror...errr, I mean...viewing, of flights at National.

Park closes at 10 and the arrivals are pretty sporadic after that time. There are arrivals up until about 1:00 am, but at a rate of 20 an hour.

The last big bank of arrivals is from about 7:00 to 9:30

Check the wind direction before you go. They don't always land downriver.

Gravelly Point is lame because of those pesky FAA regulations. Now, if you want a true aircraft landing viewing experience, there is a bar at the end of the Juliana Int'l Airport in St. Maarten were you can really have a close encounter...
