Listening to Santangelo talk about a baseball game is like going to an art museum and having a tour guide describe the painting by telling you the chemical composition of the paints. Oh, and making a lot if it up.

I don't know what it is about them but they are both very annoying. It's like they try to be too cute and they incessantly chatter. One never shuts up about his career and implies he knows everything (and please stop saying "nicely done"), and the other keeps saying stupid clichés. I agree they should both go...bring over the radio team. I have several friends who follow the Nats and they all feel the same way

without a doubt these 2 current Nat announcers are terrible. I love the Nats and these guys, especially FP are terrible . I hope they both get canned. I have the mlb package and I know of no crew worse.

The Nats do need new tv announcers. They go overboard on routine plays and and are very boring on play by play.

I agree, santangelo is an idiot, who cares about how high the ball went in the air? And his numbers on double plays 623.can't stand to listening to him. He ruins the game.he is all mouth. He likes to hear his self talk.he also made a statement several weeks ago that pictures with long hair , might have grease or in their hair that they might put on the ball. What a bunch of bull. 6/28/17 I'm watching the hard/ cubs now hearing his mouth

Best comment on this board. I agree completely and I've been watching baseball for 50 years. Not saying the guys are perfect, but I'm a NJ guy who grew up listening to legendary Mets and Yankees broadcasters, and I really enjoy these two, and I enjoy the radio guys a lot as well.

I'm not surprised though that in a market that thinks the idiotic moron Sports Junkies is good radio and where a self-important doofus like Chad Dukes gets a drive time slot, that there's a bunch of idiots who want to irrationally criticize Carpenter and Santangelo.
