Twinbrooke Subway: What's THEIR Problem?
Posted by: Ten Toes in the Grave ()
Date: May 04, 2012 10:03PM

What's the problem at the Subway in the Twinbrooke Shopping Center? Half the time I go in there, multiple people are in the back room and they absolutely ignore me. (Kudos, by the way, to the nearby Subway in the Kings Park Shopping Center. Folks there are friendly, helpful, and never ignore you.)

The last time I went to the Twinbrooke Subway, I decided I'd had enough of being ignored. So after about 3 minutes of being The Invisible Customer, I took out my trusty phone and snapped a picture. Boy, you'd have thought I'd slammed a beehive with a baseball bat.

"Vot are you doing?"
"Taking a picture."
"No. No. You cannot take a picture."
"Sure I can. I just did."
"No. No. No pictures."
"Yes. Pictures."
"Vhy do you take pictures?"
"Why do you ignore your customers?"
"Vot is your name?"
"My name is _________."
"Vot you do vit the pictures?"
"I'll post it on Fairfax Underground."
"No. No. You not do."
"Yes, I will. Go ahead and call the cops, then. And explain why you ignore customers."

Hearing no explanation, I left and drove down to the Kings Park Subway where I was promptly waited on.

Every time I've been to the Twinbrooke Subway, they have new employees. The employee turnover appears to be very high.

Since the employees are all in the back, your move should have been to write "We hate niggers" with a Sharpie on the glass partition.

If it's really a problem then call/write/post to the Subway site and their franchisee grant will quickly be revoked - end of their problem.

Are the Subway's in D.C. area mostly owned by one guy or are they franchisees?

I seem to recall reading an article about a gentleman who owns a huge mess of Subways in the area.

I guess the daily issues in life I deal with are enough that I wouldn't rise (or stoop?) to taking the time to photograph a restaurant and post them to a public forum over bad service. Sub-par service in a fast food restaurant? Well blow me down.

So I don't know if I should be thankful or not... am I lucky that my daily challenges are more significant than if my $5 footlong is a couple minutes late, or am I unlucky that my life is as problem-free as this poster's life?

The post and the comaplaint is pathetic so I'll say lucky.

While I tend to agree I see the OP's point. You are hungry you just want a stinkin sub and yet these employees cant be bothered to do their job. I am certain if you were to talk to the owner about the current economic conditions he/she would be the first to bitch about how bad things are, ignoring the fact their crappy service has anything to do with it.

Going the extra step of taking pictures and posting them online is taking the problem way too seriously.

It could be that the OP is a habitual complainer and the subway employees go out of their way to give the OP poor service because the OP is a little bitch. The Subway employees have their ways to get spit onto your sub if need be. I live in Kings park and have gotten great service from the Subway here. I will try the Twinbrooke Subway after church tomorrow and post a review here.

you know something.............yr right, justsayin - OP is an asshole

yeah, it's a business and everything
but it's not their business and not their property, is it?Y

if the manager, employees, owner of a property tells you to do something, and yr on their property, it's their rules, not yrs

They tell you you cant take pictures, you cant take pictures. I mean, if I come on your property and take pics, take a whiz, or take yr children, I cant ANY of that without yr permission, so what makes you think you can do the same at their property?

Sorry OP - if you dont like their service, just dont go - it dont give you the right to tell them HOW to run their business or to say FUCK YOU about their rules the way you did.

...............unless, of course you are some sorta PERMANENT ASSHOLE...............in which case maybe THAT'S the reason yr having trouble in Twinbrooke.........cause they know you better than the ppl in Kings Park?

Using that logic if the manager told a customer to grab a mop and clean the toilets they would have to do it.

actually, I'd have him served a trespass notice. No a-holes allowed im my place (unless, of course, they are paying cash LoLz)

notso - dont be stupid. I said "it's their rules", not "you are their slave you have to do what they say". Are you so stupid I seriously have to explain to you that you are in America, that you have freedom of movement, and that you can LEAVE A PLACE ANY TIME YOU CHOOSE TO?

Please tell me you aint that complete a fool, yo..........

Never mind GordonBlvd...she just goes off on these rants, answers herself under another name, posts a few clips, and then goes away...never soon enough, but ultimately she does depart.

Recently she's been cussing a lot more, and trying to write "ghetto," which is so sad it's actually funny.

Since Subway is a franchise I doubt getting tough with customers will be an acceptable way to deal with people. The OP can write to say this is what happens when I go into your store and here is proof. Again I wouldnt have taken pictures but I get tired of business owners bitching about the bad economy and then treating customers like crap. While the alternative may be to go elsewhere I find most places are similar to this one, employees that simply do not give a shit.

I live near a Safeway, it is the only grocery store within a few miles so my alternative is to go out of my way just because this store is dirty, the cashiers rude and the self checkouts always broken.

On any given Friday evening they may have two registers open even though the lines are seven deep, I see other employees just standing around shooting the breeze and fronting items on the shelves. Again the majority of businesses just dont care because they know once you are in the store you will most likely get what you came for no matter how badly they treat you.

Favorite subs anyone?

I enjoy the Subway Melt on Italian Herb and Cheese, but recently I've been digging Steak and Cheese on flatbread. Lettuce, tomatoes, black olives. Mayo or ranch. Good stuff.

I dislike that particular Subway because one of the beaners behind the counter was trying to look down my shirt instead of serving me my food. Yes, there are plenty of reasons to avoid that location.

Says the tramp with the pushup bra and low-cut top. Of course you want lookers. That's why you dress the way you do. Stop your bitching.

They used to be worse, the place came under new management like a few months back and it would appear that they completely restocked the employees, but it seems like old habits die hard I guess.

I will never forget though the biggest head scratcher ever when I was in there once and the guy in front of me presented a coupon. The kid at the register said "I'm sorry but these are only valid in the metro area." The guy was kind of taken aback but didn't protest. In my head I was screaming "Where the fuck do you think we are right now?

I have been NOT going to Subway for at least 3 months, ever since that incident in Patersonstan, NJ when a veteran with his clearly-identified therapy dog walked into a Subway with a sign on the door saying "We Welcome Service Animals" and a Muslim employee told him "No dog, get out." The Muslim franchise owner lied on camera about it to the news crew that showed up later. I sent a complaint to Subway through their website and never received a reply. So screw 'em.

I ain't been by twinbrooke since subways been there, but I went to the mc'd there a few years ago. Kids working were talking real loud about smoking weed, while customers with young kids was there. I suggested to the fools behind the counter to quiet down before someone complains and gets them fired. They did, but it made me wonder about the mindset of the people who work fast food. Its a shit job that pays the least. And your gonna get shit people or foreigners. If your English speaking and have any drive at all, your gonna find a job somewhere else. I don't do fast food anymore cuz of the element at those places. Don't trust what may be done to the food, or if they will leave stuff out of the freezer too long that will make someone ill

so I work at the florist in the shopping center.... and this is not the extent of the issues this subway presents. they are rude and can't make a fucking sandwhich to save their lives. the manager is a complete joke. she's on her phone 80% of the time. maybe she's comfortable with me since I used to be in there almost every day? I refuse to eat here anymore which is extremely inconvenient since there are not many food options available for my lunch break. my advice - don't waste your time unless you want a sandwhich that's 75% mayonnaise and the worst customer service you'll ever experience.
