Tenure of the teaching staff?
Credentials of the teaching staff?
Size of Gym?
percentage of students who go on to / graduate college?
Attendance?
Standardized test scores?
Number of student parking spaces?
Cafeteria food?
Hot chicks (students and/or teachers)?

Schools could be rated best to worst on any one or a combination of any of the above. So to answer your question, please be a little more specific.

Even the lowly South Lakes would be considered a great school on a national level.

And I am kidding when I say that South Lakes is lowly.

Its just not as good as Oakton.

That would be an interesting list, it would probably be filled with dense-urban areas such as NYC, LA, and Chicago I'm guessing? Probably a few hillbilly towns from bumfuck, nowhere as well.

If you go to Montgomery County MD PS website they post annual school surveys for every school. Parents and students respond. Lots of transparency in this school district.

There is a LOT of data given how many subjects there are, and I'll admit its hard to find data that is easy to work with.

Try this link - it gives scores and pass rates for various subjects in FFX county.

Just eyeballing through it, I see Edison, Mount Vernon, Falls Church, West Potomac, and (surprise, surpise) South Lakes as schools that are often at the bottom of the pass rates. Mind you this data is through 2001, so take it for what its worth. Interestingly, some schools that do poorer on average do very well in one or two given areas. South Lakes wasn't doing very hot overall, but in Earth sciences, S.L.'s score was second only to TJ.

It is surpising that South Lakes ranks second to Thomas Jefferson in many subjects. I've see South Lakes in general as mix of low class and extreme wealth. Most of the wealthy kids just party on their parents "pontoons boats" on the lakes. Bikini parties on the lakes don't get you a good education!

Most hispanics
Stuart 41%
Falls Church 32%
Annandale 27%
Edison 23%
Mount Vernon 21%
Lee 21%
West Potomac 18%
Herndon 18%
South Lakes 16%
Hayfield 14%

But I've heard only one Hispanic at a school can turn as many as 15 other students into Hispanics, while only Black at a school can only turn 5-6 other students into Blacks.

this data is very old - 2001 - to get a better and more upto date picture you probably need to use the VDOE site

also, passing is a minimum standard which understates the seriousness of the situation. It gets more interesting when you split out the advanced passes from the bare-passes
