I saw this on the news the other day...

Apparently there's a steak restaurant in Philadelphia called "Chink's Steak"
and Asian-American community there have been protesting it for a while.

To Asians-Americans, "Chink" is almost the equivlant of(or worse than)
"Nigger" for African-Americans.... just imageine what kind of
riot you'd have if you see a restaruant called "Nigger's Steak"???

so my question is this.... are there restaurants here in Fairfax county
area that have racial slurs in their names?

There used to be a restaurant down in Chinatown called "New Big Wong".

There's a restaurant near Annandale named Sambo's.

Can't remember...the word Sambo pisses somebody off, niggers I think.

Sambo is russian style martial artsm and is not a perjorative term. Sambo was also the name of old children's story about a little boy in India who goes into the jungle and gets his clothes stolen by tigers, but gets his revenge, when they turn into butter that he then puts on pancakes and eats. People see it as negative stereotyping of blacks. However, the story takes place in INDIA, not Africa, and was written over a hundred and ten years ago by a Scottish woman. Sure the books illustarations have the boy sporting an afro, but he is supposed to be Indian. I think the whole racist thing was created after the fact, IMHO.
