one year ago
56 students were shot, 33 of them were murdered execution style, 23 survived but suffered injuries (some very major and life changing).
WHS's reputation was spoiled, along with Centreville, and Virginia Tech became a counter-strike map.
and we remember, and mourn for the victims who lost their lives, as well as their families.
any thoughts? anything anyone wanna say? (other than Gravis)

I remember first hearing about right here on the forum that morning, and then turning on the news. Someone even took pictures during the day and posted them. By late afternoon the thread had already turned into a pro-gun argument that lasted for days.

West field High School's reputation was spoiled after the first WHS kid went on a rampage and killed the two FFX cops, the Tech shooting just made WHS look worse.
Thank god the cops cleaned out the drugs in WHS lockers this year. Maybe that will avoid another WHS student from going on shooting rampage this year.

WAY worse
i'd say it was a good 15x as deadly as the kennedy one
and it was the worst in US history which doubles the damage

both of those shootings happened because our mental health care system is crap. society is neglecting the mentally ill population and expecting no repercussions. a good deal of the homeless population has some form of mental illness and they are not getting the help they need. if one in a million untreated mentally ill people go "postal" society is forced to bear the consequences.

What pisses me off no end is the piles of our (taxpayers) money that they are going to give the victims' families. And some of the bastards say it isn't enough...the nerve!
The VPI victims (and 9-11 too) were in the wrong place, at the wrong time. It's a tragedy for sure, but why enrich the survivors?
Innocent people are murdered EVERY day in this country and their families don't get shit.

Its way too easy to slip through the cracks at Westfield. if you're not a sports god no one gives a shit about you or your future. Westfield was the worst thing to ever happen to me.
