this is especially true in Fairfax county, where there's a lot of
well-off LEGA immigrants for all over the world...

I am a legal immigrant (since then naturalized citizen) from Ethiopia. My feelings on this illegal immigration thing is mixed. I hate when illegals come here and commit all kinds horrid crimes in a country they are here illegal at to begin with. It took me and my family 10yrs to go through the process of coming here legally. Anytime crimes are committed by people that were not born here (illegals/legals) it fucking makes me mad in how they disregard the laws of a country that welcomed then. On the other hand, when the fear of illegal hysteria borders racism that too sucks. When I was working at this local 7/11 I use to see this Mexican gentleman almost everyday (6 days a week) buying coffee and donuts and we become friends and I found out he had no papers. Very truly respectful man, went on about his business and never bothered anyone. In my time since then I have met many more like him (Latinos) very hard working decent and kept to themselves. If someone is here illegally or even legally and they are dumb enuff to commit crimes I would be the first to say deport them. It just gives us legals a bad name to have crimes committed by those from the same background as us.

Osman...the vast majority of the people on here will find a reason to hate legal immigrants even if there wasnt a single illegal in the country. You represent change....and they fear change. By the way...welcome to Amerika!

Very well put, a friend of mine who is first generation American and family is from Mexico basically feels the same way, and he and his parents hate the illegals.
