Does anybody have any pics from the old 4x4/dirt bike trails that used to run through the woods around Beulah St., Hayfield, Springfield, Manchester Lakes and Kingstowne areas in the late 70's early 80's.

I used to ride 3 wheelers around there all the time. It sucks that they leveled everything and built cities over it all. Used to be the best trails anywhere.

Those pictures are of me and my friends circa 1979 or 1980. I rode motorcycles at the Pits but those pictures are actually off Old Keene Mill Rd at Accotink creek across from the church. 1973 Blazer and a 1979 or so Golden Eagle Jeep CJ7 V8 with a winch on the front. Lots of fun!

Wow, Those are awesome, great days 4-wheelin, dirt biking, hunting, fishing and camping. Lots of fun. I had alot of pics like these, but they went missing when we moved. Even had one of a black bear well over 7 ft. tall that we took just off the train tracks near fleet drive around 81'or'82 . Can you imagine, a bear in what is now Manchester Lakes.

Loisdale pits also connected to the Beulah pits if you travel east from Loisdale Rd. you would eventually come to Beulah St. There were several places to cross Beulah St. into those pits. Great Days Back Then.

I used to ride dirtbikes at those pits in the early 70,s.and rode my 4X4 Ford PU on that creek from the bridge at Hooes Road to Springfield with friends in Dodge Power Wagons. That was a party place by the bridge on the hill, going down there two years back I discovered that hill is a giant rock off to the side going toward the now Fairfax Co Parkway something I never knew back then as it was dark when we were down there and glad I never walked off there at night. How did we ever get down in that creek?? but it was almost 40 years ago 1974-75

There were old VW bugs parked in the pits that we would drive.

Dirt bikes too.
