Bush the greatest president ever
Posted by: Fred ()
Date: April 10, 2008 10:40AM

Ok lets have an intelligent discussion about this topic, no name calling and no slandering. If you are a Bush hater please hit the "RETURN" button, this is only open to those that support him and our country. I will tell you my reasons why I think Bush is the best thing that happened to America. After 9/11 he has shown a leadership that has never been seen since Lincoln and has not waivered on his stance and believes. People say he is cowboy but thats exactly the type of leadership we need in very uncertain world like this. Bush has done much for America but I am afraid people are being led to believe otherwise. He Loves this country more than anything else. Ok lets hear your reasons.

Finally, someone is speaking the truth about Bush!

Let's be honest. 9/11 was the fault of Bill Clinton. Let's forget that it actually happened nine months into Bush's Presidency or those memos about Bin Laden Determined to Attack within the U.S. If Bill Clinton had simply invaded Sudan at the height of his impeachment trial in order to get a guy most Americans had never heard of at the time, I'm sure the Republicans in Congress would have applauded whole heartedly and most certainly wouldn't have accused him of "wagging the dog."

As for Iraq, thank God Bush had the courage to take out Saddam Hussein. Just think of the thousands of Iraqis who would have been tortured or killed under Saddam. It is much better that those Iraqis are tortured and killed by our troops and contractors like Blackwater. Because, after all, nothing says "liberation" like having your head liberated from your body by an American-made M-16.

And look at the housing industry, airlines and illegal immigration. Who needs "regulation" when the market will adjust itself, even if it means $1 trillion in losses for home owners, 170,000 passengers stranded while airlines do the inspections they were supposed to do years ago and 20 million illegals moving into the SFH next door to you.

Bush is better than Lincoln, Washington and FDR...combined! Bush is a cowboy, and that's what this country needs running it...a guy who has so few skills that he spends his life guiding future hamburgers from one pasture to another.

Electing a moron is not cheap and our grancdchildren will pay the price.

fiscal disaster: nearly doubled national debt in 8 years with typical debtpublican "borrow and spend" policies. We can't finance our gov't without borrowing from China and Japan. We pay taxes into February just to service the national debt. Borrow and spend doesn't work and we can't afford anymore debtpublicans in WH.

foreign policy disaster: shortsighted, inept polices have wasted trillion$$$$$ and thousands of lives to chase fictional WMDs while legit threats percolate. All cost, no benefit. Can anyone say Elmer Fudd and Barney Fife rolled into one.
Iran and N Korea say thanks moron....way to keep your eyes on the prize.

Missing: Our Trade Strategy

By Harold Meyerson
Thursday, April 10, 2008; Page A23

President Bush has sent his trade pact with Colombia to Capitol Hill, and suddenly Washington is not only ablaze with cherry blossoms but cluttered by chestnuts. Every old argument for the virtues of free trade is being recycled by the league of American editorialists, whose all-but-universal commitment to a failed policy will surely excite the wonder of future historians.

The amazing thing about the free-traders' arguments is that they never change.
What's been missing in America's trade policy is a preference for Americans. The object of trade in China is to help the Chinese nation. German trade is designed to help Germany; Scandinavian, to help the Scandinavian nations. the U.S. government has never taken on the mission of defending the American economy, or the American people, in the global economy. That is not the only reason the broadly shared prosperity of the three decades following World War II is now a distant memory, but it is a certainly a major reason.

In the absence of such a national economic strategy, is it any wonder that by margins of better than two to one, Americans now oppose free trade? Even the relatively few editorialists who acknowledge that the nation needs to do more to help our economically beleaguered populace insist that new trade deals should be consummated before governmental measures that might augment the power and income of actual Americans. But why? Why not first develop a coherent national strategy to foster better and more rewarding jobs here at home, and only then return to the regimen of trade pacts with other nations? Why, in the rush to cut these deals, do the American people amount to no more than an afterthought?

Dear Fred....you have poisened the well for any intelligent discussion by tying all of us by injecting the thought that supporting the president and the country are one in the same thing. Its the same enflamitory statement tying supporting the troops and love of ones country.

This is far from an honest statement. 9/11 happen on the Bush watch...he didnt protect us...he failed America! When Bush came to power he and the other idiots on his staff were asleep at the wheel having sucessufully buried and disputed the people and intelligence gathered during the CLinton years. There is documentation proving that the idiot Attorney General gave specific instructions to his staff telling them to stop giving him reports on terrorists...the idiot National Security Advisor was given information on a possible attack but failed to connect it with anj attack on the US despite previous attacks on the World trade Center. History will show...this was all the idiot president's responsibility.

And Condi was scheduled to be giving a speech at Johns Hopkins about a Missile Defense System. Clearly, the administration did not take the threat seriously.

Oh and the text of the speech - the White House still refuses to disclose the contents of the prepared speech only saying later the speech was meant to be a broad look at the administration's efforts to fight terrorism. The Speech was about a Missile Defense System.

Administrations come and go, career civil servants stick around. It is the policy of the current administration to appoint in high level offices people who think the way they do. This is why an administrator at NASA feels he was justified to remove information about the world being several billion years old - it is only 6000 years old give or take - and the same administrator changed a part of the NASA website showing picturs of the earth over the last 45 years and climate change is happening to the website say "No evidense exists".

And remember the DHS guys who were ordered to go around public libraries in Montgomery County to see if people were looking at porn on the internet?

Just acouple of 1000s of examples of where the right wing went wrong.

I have to agree that Bush was a sleep about Bin Laden.

Note Clinton tried to get rid of Bin Laden several times, Bush did do anything until 9/11.

Let's not forget the past NEWS:

Former President Bill Clinton defended his use
of Tomahawk missiles against Osama bin Laden in 1998 and called for
tolerance to uphold the United States as a nation of immigrants in a speech
Thursday in New York City.

"We did it because there was reliable information that Osama bin Laden and
his senior lieutenants would be there," Clinton said in a speech at the
Foreign Policy Association in Manhattan. "They were there, but left a few
hours before the missiles arrived -- it was an intelligence failure."
Clinton said the satellite-guided cruise missiles, surgically accurate and
capable of delivering a 1,000-pound payload onto a precise target a half
continent away, were programmed to strike at the heart of bin Laden's
operations.

After the missiles hit, the administration said the strikes had crippled
bin Laden's infrastructure. The United States fired more than 70 Tomahawk
cruise missiles into eastern Afghanistan, targeting training camps operated
by bin Laden. The attack killed about 20 people. "After that we trained
commandos and kept the missiles on ready, but the intelligence never
justified another reasonable opportunity," Clinton said Thursday. "Now the
stakes, the consciousness and the possibilities of American action have all
been increased and we must pursue them in all-deliberate speed."

I agree. Bush is exactly who we need in office. He possesses the attitudes and ideals of a true Southerner. Like Fred said, that may make some of you Northerners refer to him as a cowboy. But it's the Southern ideals and attitudes that is what really makes America so great. It is what has brought the country into existence in the first place hundreds of years ago.

If you want to follow the ideals and attitudes of a Northerner/Coastal-Regioner, you're only asking to be led by newly arriving immigrants, and international we-are-the-world hippies who just want to get along with everyone and share the world's wealth and privilege.

The reason American's have nice homes and nice cars, and can afford having teenage children who spend their time at shopping malls and playing xbox is not because we try to get along with all the other country's and be nice to all the races/cultures on the planet.

The reason we have wealth and privilege in comparison to other countries is because we pillage and defeat them economically, and yes, militarily. If you want to call them cowboy politics, I'm proud to be a cowboy, and I'm proud to have a cowboy like Bush in office.

Now you all can go on and call me a fascist nazi evil imperialist pig if you want, but that will just make you a hypocrite, since the nice house, and the nice laptop and your cushy job are all indirect spoils of my way of thinking.

Wow - So Bush and the Republicans are the reason we have nice homes? Is he also the reason why these nice homes have caused a death spiral in the credit markets? I think so.

The only things that Republicans are good at are spending money they don't have and playing GI JOE (so long as they stay in the sandbox.) Iraq. Afghanistan. Vietnam. = "MISSION NOT ACCOMPLISHED." -§

Bush is responsible for all the catastrophe here in the USa....GOD does not like UGLY.....

First, conflict of interest with the OIL companies and countries...

Bombing Iraq for no reason...killing innocent people.

Monies taken from the USA and given to another country to rebuild its infrastructure...what about this crumbling infrastructure.....Now since tramatic events....something that you can evidence....maybe, "you people" will start thinking about someone who will think about you!

NCLB crap that is not working.

Welcoming illegals....when the legals can just manage....

If China can build a wall around its country, why is it they we cannot?

Outsourcing JOBS to China, and other places....no one in the USA has a job but is buying so-called US merchandise made in another country.

The food chain being contaminated by illegals to get revenge....start growing your own food.

Inflation, health care, education, taking care of the elderly....is not a priority of this administration and never will be of the republican party.
