Military of 2009

Do you guys think our military situation will improve with the new president in 2009. I have served in the Marine Corps and got out w/ an honorable medical discharge w/ an option for reinlestment. I had some hardware that has been removed. I am really thinking about reinlisting in 2009 but what do you all think will happen to our military w/ the new president?

We'll be in Iraq for a long time no matter who our president. Perhaps not always in our current form but we will have permanent bases there and peacekeeping will be going on for a while, ditto for Afghanistan though Iraq is a bigger mess. More than likely we will have less people deployed in Iraq but there will still be a great need for personnel. If you're worried about job security I don't think that will be an issue anytime soon. There most likely will be cuts in the near future but it will be in R&D and contracts. My .02

No, its not the job security ,I just really want to go back. I work a 9-5 now which pays ok but I have been thinking about military for quite some time again. I have a lot of friends in the Army but I feel like the Marine Corps is a better place for me
